Dr Mark Gorbatov
Dr Mark Gorbatov is a specialist eye surgeon with expertise in the surgical management of retina conditions.
Dr Mark Gorbatov graduated with Honours from the Sydney University Medical School and completed ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital. Following this, Dr Gorbatov pursued subspecialist training in retinal disease and vitreoretinal surgery by undergoing further training at the Lions Institute in Perth, and Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in the UK.
Upon returning to Australia, Dr Gorbatov took up positions in private clinics within Sydney and country NSW, and publically at Sydney Eye Hospital.
Dr Gorbatov is currently a member of the Retinal Unit at Sydney Eye Hospital where he trains retinal fellows, ophthalmology registrars and medical students. He is also accredited to perform intravitreal injections at MetWest Surgical.
As a vitreoretinal surgeon, his interests are in surgery for retinal detachment, vitreous haemorrhage, macular hole, epiretinal membrane, diabetic retinopathy and related disorders. He also has a special interest in the treatment of age related macular degeneration and in optical coherence tomography.
Dr Gorbatov enjoys skiing with his young family and looks forward to regular visits to the snowfields.
